Eva Koch was born in Frederiksberg, Denmark, in 1953. She lives and works in Copenhagen. Initially, she started working with sculpture. Then, in 1990, she incorporated a video shot in 1989 to a sculpture thus creating Multimedia sculpture, which added a further level of communication to a static work. Video was to become her favourite medium to narrate real stories. Her videos have a documentary-‐like feel: the characters in them are ordinary people and therefore they can engage more closely with the viewer. Through the use of stories about hers and other people’s life, Koch seeks to show that the universal and the personal are not opposed spheres but, on the contrary, that one contains the other.
