FREDERIK RADDUM
Born 1973. Lives and works in Oslo, Norway.Educated at The National Academy of Fine Arts 1997 - 2001, Oslo.
In his polyester sculptures Fredrik Raddum investigates the relation between Man and Nature. Always by the means of a subtle humour. There is no romaticism left in Raddum's work. He seems to focus less on the sublime than the awkward in Man's encounter with Nature. Many of Raddum's sculptures show human beings that have brought themselves into trouble while exploring Nature - a man is caught inside a hollow tree trunk etc. A common feature in Raddum's work is also antropomorphised animals. For instance a dog trying to disguise itself as a tukan or a reindeer in rubber boots.
